Paul W. Corbin, 84, of Linton, passed away at 10 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Walnut Creek at Linton. Born June 9, 1917 in Greene County, he was the son of Ellsworth and Lelia (Clayton) Corbin. He graduated from Midland High School. He retired from Correll's Furniture in Linton in 1982 where he worked in delivery and repair. He also worked as a self-employed appliance repairman for many years. Earlier he worked at his father's coal mine, and at the Paul Gambill Store in Linton. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Bill Reynolds of Lafayette; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Larry and Betty Corbin of Linton, Paul W. Corbin Jr. of California, and Jesse and Cheryl Corbin of Linton; one brother, Roy Corbin of Columbus; two sisters, Jessie Morgan of Long Beach, Calif., and Ruby Sterrett of Crawfordsville; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Roush) Corbin on Feb. 18, 1987; daughter-in-law, Sue Corbin; two brothers, Lloyd and Lee Corbin; and his parents. Funeral services will be at Welch & Cornett Linton Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
