Pearl Ruby Thompson Cowart, 94, died Monday, December 23, in Optim Medical Center in Sylvania.

Mrs. Cowart was born in Screven County and lived most of her life in Bulloch County. In 1986, she moved to Mississippi and lived there for several years, before returning to Screven County in 2007. Mrs. Cowart was a homemaker and a retired nurse. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy N. Cowart; her sons, Julian Earl Cowart and Alfred Dean Cowart; her daughters, Ann Elizabeth Cowart and Pearl Ruby Cowart.

She is survived by son, Horace N. Cowart and his wife, Alice Faye of Sylvania; 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 26 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 27, in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Davis officiating. Burial will be in Brooklet City Cemetery.

Hodges-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
