"Thomas W. Munden passed away at his residence two miles southeast of Savannah at 6:30 a.m. Monday, November 9, aged eighty-three years, nine months and nineteen days. He was born in North Carolina and moved to Indiana and came to Andrew county in 1881 and located on the farm where he died. Mrs. Munden died twenty-five years ago and three of their children have died, leaving four living, John K. Munden, C. C. Munden, Mrs. A. H. Bowman and Mrs. W. I. Breit. Mr. Munden served during the war with Company C, 9th Indiana Infantry. The funeral was held at the M. E. Church, South, of which he was a member, by his former pastor, Rev. Marston Dewitt of Barnard, Wednesday afternoon and the remains were placed in the Savannah cemetery." Savannah Reporter (Savannah, Missouri), November 13, 1914
