Mr. Munden had not been well for three weeks and his illness became serious only a few days before his going. He had some teeth extracted and the seriousness began.
He was kindly, industrious, friendly and neighborly, and his many friends will meet him again in that better place.
C. C. Munden, son of Thomas W. and Margaret Fletcher Munden, was born June 27, 1872, in Greenfield, Hancock County, Indiana. He died July 23, 1940, at 9 a.m. at his home two miles southeast of Savannah at the age of 68 years and 26 days. He moved with his parents to Andrew county in 1881, and had lived here until his death on the same farm. In 1893, he was converted in a revival meeting at the Deakin school by Bishop C. C. Selecman. On February 17, 1918, he was united in marriage with Lucille Severns and two children were born, Margaret Munden Blevins and Thomas Munden of the home.
Besides his wife and children, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. W. I. Breit; a brother, John K. Munden on the home place; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who mourn his passing." Savannah Reporter and Andrew County Democrat (Savannah, Missouri), July 26, 1940
