Clell worked with several railroad lines throughout his working career from 1943 to 1962. In 1962 he began his 18 year career with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Winterset and a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes. He loved coon hunting and coon hounds.
He is survived by his wife, Lila L. Kilmer of Winterset; a daughter, Judy Crabb and husband, Don of Lorimor; a son, Jim Kilmer and wife, Celia of Murphysboro, AR; 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
