There are a couple of inaccuracies in the memorial. His mother was not Luanna, the name of one of his sisters, but Louisa. Louisa was not the granddaughter of Andrew Jackson, who had no children, but the great-great niece of Andrew Jackson. And his father, also named Edward Julius Timberlake, did serve for a time in the Confederate Army, but it was his uncle, William Poindexter Timberlake, who was an officer under Nathan Bedford Forrest. Though he was a Captain, not a Colonel. The mistakes in this memorial come from an obituary written by his son, but his history was not quite correct.
