They farmed near Volga City for 25 years, then lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Chicago, Illinois. They then moved to Oelwein, Iowa and lived there 22 years. In 1961 they moved to Strawberry Point, where Amalia spent her last 1-1/2 years at the Lutheran Home.
