Louisa is the 5th of Heinrich and Elisabeth (Heckenlaible) Berndt's 7 children. She was born at Avon, SD. Her parents were both German from Russia Immigrants. Her Father from Alt. Danzig and her Mother from Waterloo.Her Mother Elisabeth passed away when Louisa was 4 years old. Her Father never re-married.She married David M Buchholz on March 31, 1913 at Avon, SD.From their union 6 children were born: Susan, Leona, Ester, Wayne, Ellen and Opal.Ester and Wayne unfortunately passed in infancy.I see them in Avon, SD in 1945 Census records.They relocated to Wessington Springs and spent the remainder of their years there.Her surviving daughters all married.
