We are sorry to advise you of the death of John Petrie, who died at the old soldier's home, near Leavenworth, Kansas, Sunday. Mr. Petrie was sent there last summer in the hope that the change would benefit his health, for he had been failing for some time and it was believed that the sight of his old comrades would do much toward cheering him up and helping his condition. His body arrived Wednesday, on the evening passenger, and after funeral services at the U. B. Church was laid to rest in the Wanette Cemetery. He leaves several sons and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Mr. Petrie was 75 years and 9 months old.
