OBITUARY

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church of Canadian for George TUBB, 92, pioneer Hemphill County resident.

Rev. Howard Quiett will officiate and burial will be in the Canadian Cemetery.

Mr. TUBB came to America at the age of 2 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. TUBB. They settled in Kansas. In 1886, they moved to a ranch about 6 miles down Elk Creek from the cowtown of Canadian, which had been founded a year earlier.

In 1902, along with his brother, Charlie, he purchased a ranch on the county line north of Canadian and south from cowboys of the old 7-K Ranch, who had taken title from the state.

In 1945, he took his son, George Earl TUBB, into the business as a partner and he continued to ranch until the time of his death.

He was a Mason and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canadian.
