WILLIAM R. CLEM
HORTON KAN.-William Ralph Clem, 70, Horton, formerly of Atchison, Kan. , died Thursday, November 11, 1993 at a health care center here.
Mr. Clem was born in Atchison, Kan. , where he attended the public schools, moving to Huron, Kan. in the 70's then to Horton.
He was employed in construction and later as a truck driver with Midwest Grain Company. He also also worked in maintenance at Benedictine College in Atchison.
Mr. Clem served in the Army just after World War II in Korea. He was a member of the First Christian Church, The American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In 1941 he married the former Jane E. Jackson in Atchison. She died in 1969.
Mr. Clem was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Surviving: a son, James R., seven daughters, Linda Ferris and Bonnie Kelch, both of Huron, Ruth Lovejoy, Carol Thomas, and Loma Clem, all of Atchison, Vicki Myers of Lancaster, Kan. and Sandra Clem of Seattle, Wash., a stepdaughter, Dorothy Lutz, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., three brothers, Frank of Glasgow, Mont., Raymond of Atchison, and Robert of Mineral Wells, Tex, four sisters, Mary E. Wilburn and Rosie Faught, both of Atchison, Doris Regan, Cummings, Kan., and Delores Bonnel of Nortonville, Kan., 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Service: 2 p.m. Monday, Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Atchison . Family visitation 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Presentation of the flag by the American Legion Post No 6 at the gravesite.
