+ OVILA LAPIERRE, 61, STRICKEN AT HOME +
Ovila George LaPierre, 61, of 1049 Berkshire Ave., Indian Orchard, was stricken at his home Sunday and was taken to Springfield Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Dr. William Mosig, medical examiner, attributed death to coronary sclerosis.
Mr. LaPierre was born in Indian Orchard, Nov. 22, 1901, son of Joseph and the late Lillian (Denis) LaPierre and had been a lifelong resident. He was employed at Chapman Valve Manufacturing Co. as an expediter for 41 years. He was a member of the Ludlow Fish and Game Club.
Besides his father, he leaves his wife, Mrs. Yvonne (Fontaine) LaPierre; six sons, George R., Ronald J., Richard N., and Raymond R., all of this city, Leon D. of Ludlow and Donald R. of the U.S. Navy; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Clouse of East Hartford, Mrs. Walter McCarthy of Hazardville, Conn., and Mrs. Alvin Morse of East Longmeadow; a brother, Harold LaPierre of Warehouse Point, Conn.; a sister, Mrs. Harold Donahue of Pawtucket, R.I. and 13 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at the Ratell funeral home Wednesday at 8.15 a.m. with a solemn high mass in St. Aloysius Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are today and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m.
