GRIM REAPER AT WORK
Death released Mathias Sherer from a long illness at 2 o'clock this morning, at his home two miles South of the city on the Lake Shore road. The decedent had been a sufferer for years affected with consumption and little by little had wasted away until at the time of his death he was but a mere skeleton of his former self. The end was peaceful and while it had been expected, the family being in constant fear of it, they were not prepared and their sorrow is great.
Deceased was about 34 years of age and married. He was well known in the city and had many friends who will learn of his death with sincere sorrow.
Besides a devoted wife, two young children are left to mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent father.
Funeral will be held from St. Peter's church Wednesday at 9am.
