NICHOLAS SCHERER
(1863 - 1941)

Nick Scherer, 78, retired Chicago and North Western railroad section foreman, died Friday night at the home, 1516 Marshall street.

Mr. Scherer had been suffering from a cold for a few days but he was about his usual activities yesterday.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the home and at 9 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic church, the Rev. J. H. Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body was removed to the home from the Pfeffer Funeral Home this afternoon and will lie in state until the hour of the funeral.

Mr. Scherer was born on February 26, 1863, in Newton, and moved to Manitowoc 42 years ago. He retired from his work on the railroad eight years ago.
He married Rose Zych 46 years ago.

Survivors are the widow; one son, Anton, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Ernst Duehner and Mrs. Mary Zych, both of this city.

Mr. Scherer was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Boniface Catholic church, and the society will recite the rosary at the home Sunday at 7 p.m.
