Fred Alexander Moore, 95, was born March 7, 1918 near Kingston, AR. to Andrew Jackson Moore and Vera Stella (Gurley) Moore. He went to school at Liberty Church in the area. Fred worked at many things, He split fence rails by hand for .50 cents at day, farmed, and was a auto mechanic. He married Ethel Cline on March 4, 1940 and they enjoyed 59 years of hunting, fishing and traveling together.

Fred was in the Navy in World War II. He got a job at American Airlines in 1951 in Tulsa, OK. He bought 80 acres near Oologah, OK., built a house and moved the family there in 1955. He raised cattle and worked for American until he retired in 1980 from American, but he continued to raise cattle or at least had a hand in it all his life.

Fred and Ethel were avid hunters and fishermen, and they traveled to much of the world together. He never quit hunting, he went on his birthday in March.

Fred was proceeded in death by his wife Ethel, His parents Jack and Stella, Daughter Sue Mayfield, 5 Sisters; Elsie, Marie, Boonie, Flora and Imogene.

He is survived by one son, Jerry Moore and his wife Marcia of Talala, OK., 7 Grandchildren; Melody Mayfield of Orlando, OK., Donna Rader of Talala, OK., Hal Mayfield of Claremore, OK., Jerry Moore II of Nowata, OK., Mindy Vann Of Orlando, OK., Jim Moore of Nowata, OK, and Marla Mayfield of Talala. 23 Great-Grandchildren, 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren. One brother, Claude Moore and wife Colene of Stotts City, MO. Many nephews and nieces, and a host of Friends.

He was a friendly man and a busy man all his life. He got to looking at where he had been, so we made a list, Japan, China, Holland, Turkey, Germany, Jordan, Israel, Dead Sea, Baptized in the River Jordan, New Zealand, Spain, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, and most of the other States, Well Travel Man.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Renew Covenant Church ( The former Liberty Freewill Baptist Church) with Pastor Ronny Hardage officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakhill Cemetery in Oologah. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home
