Herman Harry Ralstin, 79, well known Guymon businessman, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 1995, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The son of Evy and Corbett Robert Ralstin, he was born Oct. 1, 1915 in Canton. The Ralstin family homesteaded to Texas County in 1917. After attending Friendship School, he later graduated from Guymon High School with the class of 1935.

He was united in marriage with Jewell Hutchinson on April 3, 1937 in Liberal, Kan., and in 1987 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He has owned and operated Guymon Safety Land and Ralstin Parts for over 50 years.

As an active member of the Church of Christ, Ralstin served as an elder for 45 years and was instrumental in over-seeing the construction of two church buildings over this period of time. He was a man of great devotion to his family and church.

Survivors include his wife, Jewell, of the home; two daughters, Margaret and her husband, Glen Phillips; Loretta and her husband Jim Barnes, all of Guymon; two sons, Max and his wife Marilyn Ralstin of Irving, Texas and Gary Ralstin of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Esther and her husband Gerd Kleffman of Guymon and Edith and her husband Dean Schriber of Borger, Texas; two brothers, Hiram Ralstin and his wife Maxine of Hooker and Ray Ralstin and his wife Yvonne of Guymon; 13 grandchildren, Bruce Phillips, Bryan and Darla Phillips, Bradley Phillips, Brent Phillips, Teresa Stokes, Tonya and David Henderson, Tamra and Robert Hall, Kyle and Amy Barnes, Daniel Max Ralstin, Amy Ralstin, Carey Ralstin, Erin Ralstin and Ryan Ralstin and nine great grandchildren.
