TABB - Jackson O. Emerson, 69, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Emerson was a Gloucester County native. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Tabb.
Mr. Emerson retired as welding department supervisor from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1975. He was also a retired farmer, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Susie Emerson; two daughters, Celesta Hogge and Jackie Hollis, both of Tabb; one son, Roy Emerson of Gloucester; one sister, Elizabeth Smith of Newport News; eight brothers, Brandon Emerson of Edward, Okla., Linwood Emerson of Gloucester Point, Nelson Emerson of Newport News, Herbert Emerson of Dare, Sherwood Emerson of Poquoson, Chester Emerson, Robert Carroll Emerson and Frederick Emerson, all of Tabb; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Franklin Hall. Burial will be in Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Gloucester County.
