Christiana, or Christina, was the daughter of George Williams and Nancy Newhouse; born along Brumley Creek in the Poor Valley, Washington County, Virginia - north of Abingdon. She was likley named after her cousin, Christiana Newhouse, daughter of her mother's brother John M Newhouse, born just a few years before Christiana Williams. In 1811, Christiana's family moved from Virginia to Franklin county, Indiana Territory, and in 1820 settled in the small town of Columbia, Fayette County, Indiana.

On 19 Apr 1827, Christiana married Jonathan Bulkley in Fayette County, Indiana; married by her Uncle the Rev James Newhouse (a Baptist Minister):

"Jonathan Bulkley to Christene Williams
Be remembered that on the 17th day of April A.D. 1827 The following Marriage License issued, To wit, State of Indiana, Fayette County: The State of Indiana to any person Authorized by Law to Solemnize Marriage in the Said County, Greetings Know Ye That Marriage License is hereby Granted to Jonathan Bulkley and Christene Williams of Said County to be Joined together in the Bounty of Matrimony as Husband and wife according to law –Witness my hand and Official Seal this 17th day of April A.D. 1827, Jonathan McCarty Clk F.C.C. State of Indiana, Fayette County, SS:
I do hereby Certify that the within named Persons (Jonathan Bulkly and Christene Williams) were Joined together in Marriage by me the undersigned on the 19th day of April 1827 – Given under my hand this nineteenth day of April.

The Bulkleys lived in Fayette County until 1846, when they moved with Christiana's Williams family to Fulton County, Illinois, and lived for awhile at the farm of her brother Isaac Williams. About 1847-48, Jonathan Bulkley died in Fulton Co, Illinois. In 1850, Christiana lived in Fulton Co, IL with her children, on the farm of her brother Isaac Williams near Troy, Union Twp. In 1853, family history indicates that Christiana moved her family to Knox County, Illinois, where Christiana died circa 1854. Her children changed the spelling of their surname from Bulkley to Buckley. Christiana presumed buried in Babbitt Cemetery in Fulton Co, Illinois along with her husband, daughter Nancy, mother and family of her brother Isaac Williams.

John and Christiana had the following children:

*Hannah Buckley, 1841 – 1893, m. Henry H Hudson
*James Wesley Buckley, 1844 – 1924, never married
*Isaac Buckley, 1847 – 1862, d. in Civil War
