Mary Darlene Hickman

Mary Darlene Hickman, age 73, of Kirksville, Missouri, formerly of Hurdland, Missouri, passed away Friday (October 29, 1993) at her residence in Kirksville, Missouri.

She was born April 16, 1920 in Hurdland, Missouri, the daughter of Sherman Stephen and Grace Geneva Patton Barnhill. On July 6, 1936 at Unionville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Joseph Hickman and he preceded her in death on January 9, 1969.

She was also preceded in death by her father, and two brothers Sherman Barnhill, Jr. and Floyd Raymond Barnhill.

She is survived by her mother, Grace Geneva Barnhill of Edina, Missouri.

She is also survived by one son, Joseph Terry Hickman and his wife Colleen of Grapevine, Texas, two granddaughters, Sandra Hickman Evans, and Mary Elizabeth Hickman, one grandson, Matthew Joseph Hickman, and one great-granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Evans and several nieces and nephews.

Darlene was raised in the Hurdland community where she received her education graduating from the Hurdland High School.

She was a housewife and homemaker and enjoyed reading. Darlene lived several years in Texas and Canada and for the past twenty-two years lived in Knox County, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Monday (November 1, 1993) at 11:00 a.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel at Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Robert Shobe of Hurdland, Missouri officiated the services. Music was provided by Robert and Elizabeth Poore.

Entombment was in the Linville Mausoleum in the Linville Cemetery at Edina, Missouri.

Casket bearers were Joe Muir, Matthew Hickman, Clayton Marshall, Ron Poore, Chris Gonnerman and Charles Rowlison.
