Grace Geneva Barnhill
Grace Geneva Barnhill, age 93, of Edina, Missouri, formerly of Hurdland, Missouri, passed away Saturday evening (January 15, 1994) in the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, Missouri.
The daughter of Joseph and Matilda Anderson Patton, she was born June 19, 1900 at Ball Bluff, Illinois.
She married Sherman Stephen Barnhill on June 28, 1919 at Edina, Missouri and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1971.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Sherman Barnhill, Jr. and Floyd Raymond Barnhill, and one daughter, Mary Darlene Hickman on October 29, 1993.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Joseph Terry Hickman and his wife Colleen of Grapevine, Texas, Stephen Nelson Barnhill of Aurora, Colorado and Randi Koeski and her husband Gary of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; six great-grandchildren, Sandra Hickman Evans, Mary Elizabeth Hickman, Matthew Joseph Hickman, Matthew Koeski, Zackary Koeski and Tami Barnhill; one great-great-granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Evans and several great-nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Julia Lorey of Edina, Missouri and Lois Patton of Midland, Texas.
Mrs. Barnhill moved with her parents from Illinois at the age of five to Knox County, Missouri.
Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Barnhill resided in Hurdland, Missouri. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hurdland, Missouri, where she and her husband were active in all of the church activites. She was also the church pianist for a number of years.
She was also a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the Matilda Chapter #411 O.E.S. at Edina, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday (January 21, 1994) at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel at Edina, Missouri with the Reverend Robert Shobe officiating. Music will be provided by Robert and Elizabeth Poore. Burial will be in the Linville Cemetery at Edina, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be Joe Muir, Charles Rowlison, Mason Poore, Clayton Marshall, Chris Gonnerman and Randall Forquer.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday (January 20, 1994) at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel at Edina, Missouri with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Homes Edina Chapel, Edina, Missouri.
