Funeral services for D. H. "Byrd" Bolen, Sr. 73 of Williston will be held two pm Thursday, November 14, 2013 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. The family will receive friends from five to seven pm Wednesday November 13th at the funeral home in Williston. "Byrd" passed away Monday November 11, 2013.
Born in Barnwell County he was a son of the late Jerry McDuffie Bolen and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sanders Bolen." Byrd" was a truck driver, farmer, worked in construction and formerly owned and operated Palmetto Fence Company. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy "Dot" Laird Bolen of the home; daughter, Renee (Linwood) Livingston of Lake Murray; son, D.H. "Bubba" Bolen, Jr. of Aiken; grandchildren, Elyse Livingston, Kayla Bolen; sister, Brenda B. Morris; brothers, Bates (Penny) Bolen, Norman Bolen, Ronnie (Juliette) Bolen and his loving puppy dog, Harley.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Essie B. Hair; brothers, Jerry "Little Mac" McDuffie Bolen and Edward Bolen.
