Samuel Bowers, of Carbondale, was pronounced dead on arrival at Doctors Hospital in Carbondale on Friday, September 29, 1972, after an apparent heart attack. He was 67.
He was born in Richland County on October 29, 1904, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel P. Bowers.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Dwyer; one son, Dr. Norman S. Bowers of Kaiserslautern, Germany; three sisters, Mrs. Lila Henry of Clairmont, Mrs. Mary Adams of Clairmont and Mrs. Esther Ribley of Olney; and two grandchildren.
