Mrs. Elmer Joy
Stella May Hunt, daughter of Ella and Freeman Hunt, was born on a farm southwest of Belleville on June 20, 1890, and departed this life at the Belleville hospital on May 28, 1958, at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 8 days.
At the age of six years she moved with the family to Narka where she lived until the past year when she was a patient in the Belleville hospital. She received her schooling in the Narka schools and was a teacher after completing her education.
At an early age she gave her heart to God and became a member of the Presbyterian church where she was active and faithful working in the Ladies Aid and Sunday school.
In 1910 she was united in marriage to Elmer G. Joy and to this union were born three children, Bernice Eilene, Azel Adin and Bessie May.
Her life services to her family and friends will long be remembered. Patience and cheerfulness are characteristics which endeared her to all who knew her.
Those to mourn her passing are her husband, Elmer; two daughter, Bernice of Topeka, Bessie May Cole and husband, Phillip of Casco, Me.; a son, Azel and wife Leona of Narka; one brother, Roy Hunt of Wichita; five grandchildren; other relatives and friends
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Narka conducted by the Rev. Sylvan Poet. Interment was made in Maple Grove cemetery.
