Born in Detroit to Peter and Alice (Lewandowski) Gardynik on December 31, 1910. The Gardynik family lived on Williams in Detroit until 1920. After 1920, the family moved to 4296 Bangor in Detroit. By age 19, Alice was working in a Detroit auto factory doing assembly.

On September 14, 1929, Alice married John Watson, a 24 year old originally from Scotland. The ceremony was held at St. Casimir Church in Detroit. Alice and John lived with Alice's parents on Bangor at least until the 1930 Federal Census.

On December 27, 1932, Alice filed for divorce on grounds of extreme cruelty and non-support. The divorce was granted February 26, 1934. They had no children.

On October 13, 1934, Alice married Frank Kurzynski in Ann Arbor. Justice of Peace Henry Reading officiated. They had at least one child, Mark, born about 1939. In 1940, they were living at 6329 Jullian in Detroit.

Alice died August 2, 1945. She was buried August 6, 1945, next to her father.
