He was born May 7, 1925, in Mercer County, to Joseph J. and Mary T. Kaup Dues. On Aug. 1, 1946, he married Dorma R. Cummins who survives.
Also surviving are a son, John (Diane) of Celina; a daughter, Jill (Larry) Sanders, Wapakoneta; two brothers, Lowell (Joan) of Coldwater, and Gregor (Barb) of Michigan; seven sisters, Genevieve (Gregor) Schmitz and Jeanette (Howard) Osterholt, all of St. Henry, Wilma (Vernon) Naber, Minster; Helen (Tom) Homan, Marilyn (Wil) Froelich and Mary Ann (Don) Post, all of Coldwater, and Maria Dues, Russells Point; a sister-in-law, Margaret Dues, Eaton; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Harold, Wilfred and Joseph.
He retired from Minster Machine Co. and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025 and American Legion Post 470, all of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, with the Legion conducting military rites.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
