Bessie Brooks Kelly, age 84, of Harrogate, was born November 12, 1918 in
Caylor, Va. and passed away August 16,2003.
She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Perry Banner Kelly; parents: Went and Rachel Yeary
Brooks; five sisters; three brothers.
Survivors, include her daughter, Frances and husband, Von Crockett of
Harrogate; brothers: William F. Brooks of Summersville, S.C., Bennie
Brooks and wife, Lucille of Harrogate; sisters: Leona Campbell and
husband Kyle of Tipton, In., Cresful Miller of Hazard, Ky., Ella Liford
of Middlesboro, Ky.; grandson, Steve Thomas and wife, Teresa of Oak
Ridge.
Funeral Services were held 7 p.m. Monday, August 18 at Reece Funeral
Home & Valley Chapel with Rev. Terry Herrell officiating. Music by Hoy
Bussell. Burial in Kelly Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Ronnie Sandifur, Billy Brooks, Marvin Barnard, Justin
Burchett, Bobby Smith, Steve Redmond, Gillis Lambert and Gary Pridemore.
