Born Oct. 2, 1919, at Blytheville, Ark., to the late Walter Phillip and Hattie Wade Atteberry, she was a lifelong resident of Charleston. She was employed over 30 years with the Missouri Department of Revenue as a vision tester for the Drivers License Bureaus in Charleston and Sikeston. A member of the First Baptist Church, she was a charter member of the Junior Study Club and a member of the Molly French Garden Club. Always willing to share her gifts with others, she was honored in 2000 by the Kingshighway Chapter of the DAR with the Community Service Award and was a past recipient of the Charleston's Woman of the Year award.
On June 14, 1946, she married James B. Moran Sr. who preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1997.
One brother, James Atteberry; and three sisters, Frances O. Atteberry, Mary Sue Atteberry and Lurline Durst also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Blair and Sharon Moran; two daughters and one son-in-law, Laurie Ann and Jim Arnold, and Frances Sue Moran; one brother, Phil Atteberry; one sister, Thelma Bess; and three grandchildren, Bethany Ann Moran, James Moran Arnold, and Julia Elizabeth Arnold.
Visitation and service at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Michael Brewer, pastor, officiated. A eulogy was offered by her son, Blair Moran.
Burial followed in the IOOF Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Tom Graham, Reginald Young, Jim Cullison, Randy Arington, Lee Goodin, Mark Dugan and Dr. Jim Cooper.
