Reidsville: Ferris Joseph "Sonny" Belmany, Jr. 70, of 181 Chicken Farm Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 30th, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM. Monday, November 4, 2013 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Bray officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.

Sonny was born in Rockingham County to the late Ferris Joseph Belmany, Sr. (a former native of Lebanon) and Mildred Griffin Belmany. He was a veteran serving in the US Navy and was retired from the Rockingham County Schools with over 20 years of service. He was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church, was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He was an avid football fan. Sonny married his wife on April 21, 1962 but later divorced.

Survivors include his children, one son and two daughters and a son-in-law;four grandchildren; one step-grandson and six great grandchildren; one step-granddaughter and one step-grandson.
