Genevieve H. Prusik

Genevieve H. Prusik, age 87 of Shawano died on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at a Green Bay nursing home, where she had lived for the past several years.

Born on Jan. 3, 1921 in the Town of Ellington, Outagamie County, she was the daughter of the late George and Ferol (Peck) Peebles. She married Norman K. Prusik on July 17, 1939 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawano. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2006.

Genevieve had owned Gen's Fawn Caf/ and had also managed the Patio Restaurant for 24 years. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughters: Judy Guetschow of Shawano and Linda (Michael) Theune of Cedar Grove; a daughter-in-law, Agnes Prusik of Green Bay; five grandchildren: Julie (Mark) Herrmann, Wayne (Stacy) Guetschow, Nathan (Rachel) Theune and Jacqueline (Chad) Hoopman; six great-grandchildren, a sister, Myrtle Gallas of West Allis; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Peebles of Navarino and Mary Peebles of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Kenneth Prusik, and eight brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday March 4, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawano with the Rev. Len Evers officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

A special thank you to the staff at Golden Living/Village Garden for the special care given to mom and also the AseraCare Hospice staff: Chaplin Mike, Mary, Kaye and Denise.
