He was born May 3, 1934, in Garland, Utah, to George Washington Couch and Melba Cottle. He married Delores Lott (Krystal Dee) in Heyburn, Idaho, at the home of Jack and Mable Lott.
Sherman will be remembered for Couch Well Drilling, his passion for drilling, his sense of humor and his love of family and friends.
Sherman is survived by his wife, Krystal Dee Couch; children, Teresa Kelly (Rodney Kelly), Rodney Couch, Cindy McCann, Scott Couch (Carla Gutierrez), Kandi Girton (Ralph Girton) and Stan Couch (Michelle MacLeod); 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters, Carol Clark, Paul Couch, Patty Couch, Dave Couch, Jayne Payne, Jerry Couch, Sharon Hobbs, and Keith Couch.
Sherman was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Farrell Couch, Lee Couch, Lynn Couch and Michael Couch; and sister, Doris Bragg.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 26, at the Paul LDS Stake Center in Paul, Idaho, with Bishop Kerry Sanford officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 25, at the Paul LDS Stake Center. Burial will follow at the Paul Cemetery.
