Funeral Services Sunday Afternoon For Mrs. John Knaack of Hurdland
Mrs. John J. Knaack, of one and an half miles west of Hurdland, died at 5:45 o'clock last Thursday evening, March 19, 1964, at her home. She had been in failing health about two years and was 77 years old.
Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral home in Hurdland with the Rev. Archie Cooper of Kirksvile officiating and burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Hurdland.
Mrs. Knaack is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Liza Barnhill and Mrs. Lottie Holman, both of Kirksville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was born March 19, 1887, in Knox County, a daughter of Uriah Porter and Laura Pinkston Smith. As Ethel L. Smith she was married March 10, 1909, to Mr. Knaack and they had lived in their present home, with the exception of 15 years spent in Hurdland, from 1915 to 1930.
Mrs. Knaack was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mrs. Ella McGlothlin, who had made her home with the Knaacks three years prior to her death June 4, 1963, and two brothers, William T. Smith, Sept. 4, 1959, and Lee Smith, in 1946.
