Mr. DeField, 84 years old, of Sikeston died Friday at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
He was born Apr. 4, 1906, in East Prairie, the son of Clarence S. and Annie Webb DeField.
On Aug. 15, 1932, in East Prairie, he married Amanda Hunter. She survives.
Another survivor is a sister, Mrs. D.W. (Dorothy) Gilmore. Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
He had served as a cashier for Roberts Cotton Oil Mill at Cairo, Ill. until 1935. From then, he served in several positions; cashier, assistant manager, manager and secretary treasure of the Sikeston Cotton Oil Mill.
He was also secretary of the board of directors for the Kennett Oil Mill, and was a member of the board of directors of the Mississippi Cottonseed Products Co. of Jackson, Miss.
In 1955, he helped organize the Planters Bank at Sikeston. The bank later became First National Bank.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Sikeston.
