He was born Nov. 18, 1908, in East Prairie, the son of C. S. and Annie Webb DeField. On Dec. 26, 1930, he married Roxie L. Majors, who survives.
He was a lifetime resident of Mississippi County and a member of the Nelson United Methodist Church here. He was self-employed until his retirement.
Also surviving are daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Malone and Mrs. Peggy Sadler; brothers, Emil and Eldred DeField; sister, Mrs. D. W. (Dorothy) Gilmore; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral service was conducted Monday at the Shelby Funeral Home here. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at Charleston.
