She was the daughter of the late Harper J. Sr. and Matilda A. Gouker Bair.
Mrs. Slaybaugh was the owner of Helen Slaybaugh Beauty Salon in McSherrystown for 36 years. She was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Lightner of McSherrystown; one grandson; one brother, Harper J. Bair Jr. of McSherrystown; and two sisters, Ruth Weaver of Littlestown and Harriet Decker of Brushtown.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta Berkheimer.
