The father's name often is seen as Josiah or Joseph "Joe" Madison Player. Sometimes it is seen as Moses Josiah Player.

Probably the informant was Thomas's brother, Jahue Madison Player.

In the 1910 census, Jane was married to Richard W. Player, who was tonging logs at a sawmill at Sycamore in Barnwell County. Probably the Salkehatchie Swamp was being logged. When Thomas died in 1916, he had been cutting timber in Three Mile enumeration district in Bamberg County. The undertaker and the informant were at Olar near Buford's Bridge which is at the western edge of Three Mile.
