David A. Carson,, 70, Davenport, Iowa, died Friday, Oct. 2 in University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.
He had worked as a custodian in the Davenport School District, retiring in 1989. He also had worked as a molder and a foreman at the former Frank Foundry, Davenport.
He was born Nov. 5, 1927, to Dallas and Violet Carson in Vincennes, Ind. He married Mae Jo Grimm on June 30, 1962, in Davenport.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kristy Vandevoort, Davenport; two sons, Ricky Carson, Bettendorf, Iowa, and Scott Carson, Davenport; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Velma Westphal and Lillian Bowling, both of Davenport, Irene Cutler, Mesquite, Texas, and Amy Maharenholz, Lawrenceville; and four brothers, Dallas Carson, Durant, Iowa, Madison Carson, Indiana, Rex Carson, Davenport, and Jimmy Carson, Silvis.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Interment was in Davenport Memorial Park.
