Henry Agena, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harm J. Agena was born April 26, 1907 at Adams, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of which he was a member until they moved to Bellevue.
On August 2, 1931 he was united in marriage to Viola Schmidt of Sterling. This union was blessed with five children. They lived in the Adams and Sterling Community before moving to Bellevue.
He was a member of the Bellevue Fire Department 25 years and was also employed by Swift and Company, Omaha.
He passed away October 31, 1977 at the age of 70 years, 6 months and five days. He is survived by his loving wife, Viola, Son Darwin of Broken Bow, three daughters, Mrs. Ron (Yvonne) Methot of Bellevue, Mrs. Gordon (Evonne) Wilkenson of St Louis, Mrs. Harvey (Lavonne) Marx of Bellevue. Twelve grandchildren, Brother Herman Agena of Lincoln, Three sisters, Mrs. Louis (Mary) Schoen, Mrs. Ben (Clara) DeBuhr and Mrs. Martha Mahler of Adams.
He was preceded in death by infant son Delmar, parents. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Agena, two brothers John and Martin.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 3, 1977 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Pastor Gary Weier officiating. Interment was in Bellevue Cemetery. Members of Bellevue Fire Department were casket bearers.
