Nels A. Pedersen, of Herman, Died Thursday, July 29

Nels A. Pedersen, a lifetime resident of the Herman area, died at the Blair Hospital last Thursday, July 29th. He was 74 years of age.

Funeral services are being held this (Monday) morning at Herman at the Baptist Church. Burial will be made in the Blair cemetery.

Nels Amos Pedersen was born July 12, 1902 at Herman. He attended the Broderson School west of Herman and grew up in this neighborhood.

On November 28, 1923 he was married to June Cushman at Logan, Iowa, and the couple became the parents of four children.

As a youth he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Rosalie, Nebraska.

He farmed in Washington and Thurston Counties and for a number of years he lived north of Decatur. Mr. and Mrs. Pedersen moved to Herman six years ago.

He is survived by his widow, June, and by three daughters and one son.

There are 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
