WALTER H. PETERSEN DIED ON MONDAY
Walter H. Petersen passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Morris Christiansen, near Herman, Monday and the funeral was held today at the Christiansen home at 2 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. Knud Larsen, of Kennard, officiating. Burial was in the Thone cemetery.
Walter was born on the farm near Herman and there he spent the 32 years, 3 months and 23 days of his life. He was an invalid most of his life, yet he was cheerful and optimistic, loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed in the community in which he had spent his entire life.
He is survived by his father, N.H. Petersen, of Herman; four sisters and three brothers as follows: Mrs. Albert Christiansen of Albert, Minn.; Henry C. Petersen of this city; Mrs. Morris Christiansen of Herman; Albert W. Petersen of Kennard; Mrs. Walter Wachter, Nels A. Petersen, and Mrs. Peter Andersen, all of Herman. A brother, Fred passed away March 20th of this year.

Another victim of the "flu" the past week was in the person of Walter Herman Petersen, who passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Morris Christensen, Monday, December 31. He was born near Herman, Neb., Sept. 8, 1896, and died at the age of 32 years, 3 months and 23 days. He spent practically his entire life here in this vicinity. Although he was an invalid most of his life, yet he had a very pleasant disposition and was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed greatly by all. He is survived by his father, N.H. Petersen; four sisters and three brothers, namely, Mrs. Albert Christensen, of Randall, Minnesota; Henry C. Petersen of Blair, Neb.; Mrs. Morris Christensen of Herman; Albert W. Petersen, Herman; Mrs. Walter Wachter, Herman; Nels W. Petersen, Herman; Mrs. Peter Andersen, Herman. A brother passed away March 20, 1928. The funeral service was held at the home of the sister, Mrs. Morris Christensen, Wednesday afternoon, January 2nd. Rev. Knud Larsen of Kennard, officiated. Music was rendered by Mrs. P.H. Petersen, Mrs. George Lowe, C.R. Gray and Fred Robertson, with Mrs. O.H. Godsey at the piano. The body was laid to rest in the Thone cemetery.
