Mrs. Annie Hill Robertson

On Thursday morning, September 4th, the death of Mrs. Bethel Robertson, former Winonan occurred at her home in Memphis, after a long: illness from a heart ailment.

Services were held Friday, September 5th, at the Cosmopolitan Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. L. Childers, assistant pastor of the Idlewild Presbyterian Church, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Robertson, formerly Miss Annie Lou Hill, was born in Montgomery County September 9th, 1870, the daughter of one of Winona's prominent pioneer physicians, Dr. Samuel Hill and Elizabeth Witty Hill, and was the sole survivor a large family, which was active in every phase of community life. In 1892, Mrs. Robertson was married to William Bethel Robertson of Jackson, Tenn., where she lived for a number of years. For the past ten years she has resided in Memphis, where she was a member of the Glenview Presbyterian Church.

Surviving her are: two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Watkins and Mrs. Annie Lou Fowler of Memphis; two grandchildren, Miss Katherine Fowler of Memphis and Dr. Noble Fowler of Merrick, N. Y.

Mrs. Robertson will be remembered by her Winona friends as the sister of the late Mesdames Walter Blackston, Mat Hill Talbert and Paul Pegues, the late Misses Matilda and Sammie Hill and the late Hon. Wilson Shedric Hill, well known lawyer and statesman.
