Edna Muriel (Yates) Webster, the daughter of Arthur L. and Elva M. (Minor) Yates, was born April 19, 1910, in Glidden. As a young child Edna moved with her family from Carroll County to a farm in Dickinson county west of superior. She received her elementary education in a rural school in Dickinson county. In 1920, the family moved to a farm in Emmet county. She completed her education in the Estherville schools, graduating in 1927, In 1933, she and her sister Faye moved to Chicago, Ill., where she was employed at the International House. Later she worked at Northwestern university in Evanston, Ill. In 1941, Edna and a friend moved to Los Angles, Calif., where she was employed at Occidental Insurance and Ambassador Travel Bureau. On Nov 9, 1948, Edna was united in marriage to Delmont C. Webster in Las Vegas, Nev. After her husband's death in 1984, Edna returned to Estherville to make her home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Grateful for having shared Edna's life are her sister, Slice Prentice, of Estherville; brother, Arnold Yates, and his wife, Joyce of Estherville and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Edna in death were her husband, parents; three sisters, Neva Higgins, Ruth Lungren and Faye Hostetters and one brother, Glen Yates.
