HAMPTON - William "Amos" Fargis, 87, a native of Rockingham Co. NC and a 61 year resident of Hampton left this world to be with his Savior Jesus Christ Sunday evening, September 22, 2013.

He was a retired electrician since 1991. He was a member of Providence Free Will Baptist church and the Seniors group "The Getabouts." He was a Hall of Fame Member and past President of the VA State Bowling Association and Hampton Roads Bowling Association.

He was a WWII veteran in the army.

Amos was preceded in death by his loving wife Colleen Fargis, three sisters Francis Walker, Pauline Carter, and Marie Morris, his father William C Fargis and mother Bessy Fargis.

The family will receive friends from 7-9pm September 27 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Amos's life will be at 12pm Saturday, September 28 at Providence Free Will Baptist Church 731 Little Back River Rd in Hampton. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton. Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and words of condolence with the family. Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2552 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666.
