Mrs. Bena Arvella Smith, age 96, passed away at her residence Saturday, September 14, 2013.
Mrs. Smith was born in Zebulon, Georgia on April 26, 1917. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Smith; parents, Charlie Shivers and Ada Greene Shivers, and grandson, Randy Smith. Mrs. Smith was retired from American Mills and was a long-time member of the Spalding Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her sons, George Smith, Jr., Marvin Smith and wife, Patsy; grandchildren, Gene and Kerrell Smith, Tim Smith, Krystal and Randy Chadwick; Glenn and Laura Smith, Gina and Steve Byrum; great-grandchildren, Charla, Morgan, Macy, Brandy, Jessica, Kaylei, Justin, Katie, Jack, and Jackson; great-great grandchildren, Marleigh, Jace, and Emma; sisters, Marion Davis and Jerry Vaughn; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Bena A. Smith will be Monday, September 16, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pastor Tracy Stone and Pastor Tommy Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Members of the Spalding Hospital Auxiliary are asked to sit together in a group at the service.
