"The Rev. Abel Wrigley, one of the respected veterans of the Wyoming conference, who since he retired from the active ministry in April, 1907, after a successful pastorate at Gilbertsville, has resided in Oneonta, died at his home in that city, Monday morning, after a long illness, from bronchitis. Brief funeral services were held from the house Tuesday afternoon, at 4 o'clock, the Rev. Dickinson offering prayer. The body was taken, on Wednesday morning, to Factoryville, Pa., where more extended services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church at 3 p. m. Dr. Austin Griffin, district superintendent, accompanied the funeral party to Factoryville and conducted the services. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery in that village. Born in Yorkshire, England, July 8, 1842, Mr. Wrigley came, with his parents, to this country when a lad of six years. They settled near Clinton, Pa., where they resided for years and where Mr. Wrigley grew to manhood ... In 1863 he married Miss Mary E. Chase of Abington, Pa., and they lived most happily. The wife and four daughters, Mrs. Charles Gregory, of Fromberg, Montana; Mrs. E. K. Covey, of Oneonta; Mrs. Fred Crandall, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Charles Kleinfelter of Binghamton, survive, as do also two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Eliza Cary, of Dalton, Pa., Miss Elizabeth Wrigley of Bucknell university, At Lewisburg, Pa.; Abram Wrigley, of Factoryville, Pa.; Seth Wrigley, of Scranton, Pa., and Winton Wrigley of Wilkes Barre, Pa. ..."
