Lora Ruth (Baum) Arend, age 84, of Pontotoc, MS, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2005 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born on April 22, 1921, the daughter of Henry and Katherine (Stallman) Baum. She is the widow of the late Marvin E. Arend who passed away December 13, 1982.
For over 25 years, Mrs. Arend worked for Western Electric which manufactured telephones and communication products. Lora was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora.
She is survived by two daughters, Yevonne (James) Robbins of Pontotoc, MS and Sandra (Erwin) Krueger of Winter, WI; six grandchildren, including Robert Greem of Aurora, Robin Poore of Montgomery, Lori Moore of Memphis, TN, Lynette Grief of New Albany, MS and Kevin Robbins of New Albany, MS; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Arend; one grandson, Ricky Sparks; two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at The Daleiden Mortuary with interment following at River Hills Cemetery, in Batavia, Illinois.
Visitation will be Friday, June 3, 2005 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL 60506.
