Martin F. Buescher, a teacher at the Lutheran school here for 46 years, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1975, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Buescher was 86 years old. He was born Feb. 2, 1889, and came to Bremen in 1908 to teach when he was 19 years old. He stayed here until 1954, when ill health forced him to resign the only teaching position he ever held. Shortly after coming here, he married Minnie Sperber of Illinois; she died 14 years ago. Mr. Buescher is survived by a son, Walter, of Brookfield, Wisc., and a daughter, Mrs. Stamford (Esther) Koehlinger of Ft. Wayne. In the 100th anniversary booklet published by the church in 1946, it was said that "much of St. Paul's progress and growth can be attributed to his untiring zeal in the classrooms. The majority of the parents of our present school enrollment (in 1946) also were pupils of Mr. Buescher in their childhood." Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. Burial was to be at Concordia Memorial Gardens. Mr. Buescher is also survived by four sisters living in Bremen: Mrs. Herman (Louise) Junge, Mrs. Walter (Agnes) Koch, Mrs. John (Rosine) Kastner and Miss Esther Buescher.
