GATTMAN - Avis Threadgill, 65, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. She was born Aug. 31, 1942, in Alabama to the late Arie Lee and Thelma Latham Shields. She attended Cornerstone Fellowship Church. She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Cornerstone Fellowship Church with Bro. James Perkins and Bro. George Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Lockhart Cemetery. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Hilton Threadgill of Gattman; two sons, Lloyd Arnold Threadgill and Jeffery Hilton Threadgill, both of Gattman; three daughters, Martha Lee Otts (Harold), Liz Guyton (Doyle) and Rebecca Lynn Threadgill, all of Gattman; nine grandchildren, Brian Guyton, Michelle Cannon, Josh Otts, Rozanna Pennington, Colton Guyton, Ashley Threadgill, Kayla Threadgill, Alexis Threadgill and Jamie Otts; nine great-grandchildren, Adrianna Cannon, Brianna Cannon, Kelby Guyton, Hope Otts, Oliver Pennington, Matthew Turner, Micah Turner, Mattie Mabus and Lee Guyton; one brother, A.J. Shields of Aberdeen; and two sisters, Geraldine Tipton of Splunge and Shirley Parrish of Hatley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alvin Shields and Roger Shields; and two sisters, Christine Hill and Laura Faye West.
