On April 19, 1881, August and Wilhelmina Hein and their sons immigrated to the United States on the Habsburg leaving departure port of Bremen, Germany and arriving at the port of New York. (During this same trip, some of Wilhelmina's family also immigrated to the USA.)
After arrival in New York, August and family went to Hiawatha, Kansas. (It is said August's brother Will lived in that area). Son Frank was born while in Hiawatha and then the family re-located to Chicago, Illinois. In Chicago, August and Wilhelmina had two other daughters -- Frances and Claire.
Wilhelmina died in 1888 in Chicago, Illinois.
