Young Albert, together with his parents, and brothers Herman, August, and Wilhelm immigrated to the United States on the Habsburg leaving departure port of Bremen, Germany and arriving at the port of New York on April 19, 1881.

After arrival in New York, Albert and family went to Hiawatha, Kansas. Brother Frank was born while in Hiawatha and then the family re-located to Chicago, Illinois, where his parents had two daughters -- Frances and Claire.

Albert's mother Wilhelmina died in April 1888 in Chicago, IL and his father remarried later that year.

Married Elizabeth Ann nee Jones...unknown date.
