Rose M. (Ziemba) Schumacher, age 78, of Canton, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2002 in Mercy Medical Center.

Born October 19, 1923 in Ludlow, MA, to the late, Michael and Victoria (Majka) Ziemba. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a former employee of Haines Directory.

Preceded in death by her husband, Herman F. in 1992; and her brothers, Frank, John and Mitchell Ziemba. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, William M. and Mary Sharon Schumacher of South Euclid, OH, Robert M. and Thelma Schumacher of Louisville, David B. and Mickey Schumacher of Canton; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Adam Wesolow of Lake Elmore, VT; sisters, Julia Rolla of Ware, MA, Nellie Opalinski of Wilbraham, MA, Evelyn Pereira of Ludlow, MA; a brother, Ted Ziemba of Ware, MA; grandchildren, Kristen (Matt) Webb, Julie (David) Bilson, Brett, Justin, Joshua and Jordan Schumacher; great-grandchildren, Matthew Webb and Hannah Bilson. Rose was the unofficial tour guide of the Amish Community for the past 12 years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Beneleit as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Don Williams Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
